MEDA’s volunteer programs offer different types of experiences for those interested in engaging further with us. Volunteering provides a unique opportunity to learn more about MEDA, raise awareness of MEDA’s work, and offer interaction with MEDA staff and clients in a meaningful way.
Do you have expertise in a technical area of business? MEDA occasionally recruits individuals for short-term business/technical expert volunteer roles with our projects around the world. These opportunities are for experienced individuals who would like to make an impact using their business and/or technical skills in an international development context. Positions vary based on the needs of our projects and clients and may be virtual, in-person or a hyrbid model.
Available volunteer opportunities can be found on our careers page.
Are you an entrepreneur, young professional or student that is passionate about international development or agriculture and wants to connect with other local businesspeople? Consider becoming a Network Hub volunteer to help further MEDA’s mission to create business solutions to poverty through organizing various fundraising events and activities. Create connections that focus on poverty alleviation, inequality, entrepreneurship, and corporate social responsibility.
All are welcome to get involved in a Network Hub who share similar values. These events create local networking opportunities and raise awareness on MEDA’s global work. Join or start a Network Hub today in your community!
These opportunities are posted on our Current Opportunities page so you can apply directly.
Local hubs are always looking for new volunteers to join! For individuals interested in forming a new network hub or joining one, please email events@meda.org for more information.
It is important to note that applying to be a volunteer with MEDA can be a competitive process. We are looking for specific skills and experiences from our volunteers.
There are no specific qualifications necessary to apply for a volunteer position within a Network Hub or to form one; however, MEDA does provide a welcome package to new members that includes a memorandum of understanding between both parties.
As a MEDA supporter, we welcome the opportunity for you to engage at a deeper level with the work that we do. We appreciate your willingness to share your time and talent to help those around the world. Volunteering is a great way for you to contribute to sustainable economic development while you gain valuable cross-cultural experience.
You need to consider what you would like to gain from the volunteer work. Think about what interests or skills you have or would like to develop. Think about the skills and expertise you have to offer. Be realistic about setting aside time to commit to the position.
