MEDA welcomes interim Chief Financial & Investment Officer, Rob Schlegel

Rob Schlegel

We are pleased to announce that effective May 10, 2021 Rob Schlegel has joined our team to serve as our Acting Chief Financial & Investment Officer. While MEDA conducts its search for a new permanent Chief Financial & Investment Officer, Rob will support MEDA’s financial operations on a part-time basis, primarily supporting external stakeholder relations and reporting to MEDA’s President & CEO.

We are very grateful to Rob Schlegel for once again supporting us through a crucial transition period – In January 2020, Rob held the interim CFIO role for almost three months. His strategic approach, passion for our strategic direction and deep commitment to MEDA on our Executive Leadership Team and our Finance & Legal Division will make an important impact during this time.

Rob brings a wealth of experience to this role: he is currently the Chief Financial Officer at R-B-J Schlegel Holdings/Schlegel Health Care and has been with the company since 1994. His company, well-respected for ethical business practices and exemplary corporate values, provides seniors’ care, mental health, and addictions treatment across Canada. Rob oversees the finance teams in all four divisions of the business and has arranged financing for the related entities of over $1 billion dollars. Rob holds the professional designations of Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant and has apprenticed as a Chartered Accountant at Coopers & Lybrand in Toronto, Canada.

Rob Schegel joins us at a critical time for our organization: he will step into the role of our dear departed friend and colleague, Orvie Bowman, who made great contributions to our organization and its organizational plan. We will honor Orvie’s memory by continuing to create and sustain decent work for entrepreneurs around the world.
