Dr. Samantha Nutt is an award-winning humanitarian, bestselling author and acclaimed public speaker. A medical doctor and a founder of the renowned international humanitarian organization War Child, Dr. Nutt has worked with children and their families at the frontline of many of the world’s major crises—from Iraq to Afghanistan, Somalia to the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Sierra Leone to Darfur, Sudan.

From 1985 until his planned retirement this summer, Wally Kroeker has been MEDA’s director of publications and editor of its magazine, The Marketplace.

Building Bridges to New Lives for Refugees

A moderated conversation of distinguished panelists shedding light on challenges refugees have faced, and on the ways that families, communities and enterprises have responded to recent crises. Featuring Tareq Hadhad, Peace by Chocolate, Cornelia Horsch, Horsch Machines, and Jennifer Mpungu, MCC BC, moderated by Thom Dixon, MEDA.

Biblical Mentors for Marketplace Ministry

Dave Esau has been pastoring in the Vancouver area since 1992 and is currently the lead pastor at Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship in Coquitlam, BC. Dave grew up on a mixed farm in Manitoba and worked his way through university and college as a carpenter, discovering marketplace mentors on the job, in the church, and in college who taught and modelled business as a calling.
