Convention 2017 - Building Bridges to Enduring Livelihoods

Considered one of the top five worldwide cities for livability and quality of life, this bustling city on the Pacific coast is an exciting place to host our #MEDACon2017. This fall, MEDA is hosting Business as a Calling: Building Bridges to Enduring Livelihoods. What could be better than world-renowned speakers, fine dining, tours of local businesses and times for networking with emerging and seasoned leaders alike?

While the seasons are changing across North America, visit Vancouver for its unique temperate rainforest. Walk among giants like the Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar and the Western Hemlock. Experience the sights and sounds of Vancouver’s famed Chinatown. Take time to reflect and ponder as you walk through Queen Elizabeth Park.

Although #MEDACon2017 is a time of festivities and fun, it is also a time to learn from experts and world-renowned speakers who share emerging topics at the intersection of faith, business and social justice. This year, we are ecstatic to hear from Dr. Samantha Nutt, humanitarian, founder of War Child Canada and author of Damned Nations, Wally Kroeker, recently retired MEDA director of publications and Tareq Hadhad, founder of Peace by Chocolate.

For more specific interests, Friday features seminars on a diverse array of subjects, including Agri-Business Market Development in Ukraine, Generosity across Generations and Cars, Cows and Cell Phones: what do they have in common? Seminars are sure to inspire you with practical takeaways for your business and community.

Convention 2017 features a wide variety of excursions, but we are particularly excited about the food and city tours this year! Tours are a great way to make new friends, learn about innovative business solutions and explore the city of Vancouver.

The fun doesn’t end with the tours! With its eclectic cultural background, Vancouver offers unique dining experiences that combine traditional Canadian culinary delights with the cultural diversity that Vancouver has to offer. This year, we’re bringing back the popular dine around experience on Friday evening. Browse a wide variety of restaurants just minutes from the hotel where you can enjoy fellowship and flavor with your fellow convention attendees.

For more information about how you can register for convention, tours, the dine around and seminars, please visit our convention website. We can’t wait to welcome you to Vancouver next week!
