Liz Miller is the Strategic Engagement Coordinator based out of the Lancaster PA Office. Liz assists in the facilitation of event promotion, organization and logistics. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a Concentration in Social Justice and a master’s in social justice & human rights from Arizona State University.
Before MEDA, Liz worked as the Development Manager & Office Manager with a non-profit legal services organization serving immigrant survivors of domestic violence & sexual assault and vulnerable immigrants in detention.

Chris Brnjas is the Associate Development Officer for Canada. Chris seeks to inspire and encourage MEDA supporters to engage with MEDA’s mission to create business solutions to poverty.
A graduate from the University of Waterloo with a specialization in peace and conflict, and theological studies, Chris is passionate about bringing people together to discover purpose, meaning and opportunities to explore their philanthropic passions.
Prior to working at MEDA, Chris co-founded a social enterprise for young adult spirituality and previously worked in Student Services at Conrad Grebel University College and the Centre for Community Based Research.
Chris enjoys having real conversations with donors and giving them opportunities to make a positive impact in the world.

Shirley is an Associate Development Officer for MEDA (United States), based out of its Waterloo office. She plays a critical role in forging relationships with supporters so they can help fulfill MEDA’s mission of providing economic development support for people living in poverty.
Equipped with a wealth of experience from the non-profit world, Shirley has served in several roles, including as Chief Development Officer for the Mennonite World Conference, Director of Christian Service Ministries for Mennonite Church Canada, and a Family Outreach Worker with the House of Friendship. Her volunteer experience also includes serving as President of Women of Mennonite Church of Eastern Canada and President of Mennonite Women Canada.
Shirley studied at the Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary and Conrad Grebel University College. Originally from Pennsylvania, U.S.A, Shirley is an avid traveler who has been to Europe, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Central/South America, Australia, New Zealand, India, Turkey, and Greece. In her spare time, Shirley also likes reading, enjoying coffee in cafes, movies, and motorcycling.

Vanessa Hofer is the Associate Development Officer for the United States. Vanessa connects with MEDA supporters, bringing MEDA’s worldwide work closer to the U.S. through meaningful conversation, impactful philanthropy, and community events.
A graduate from Goshen College in Indiana, Vanessa has years of communication and development experience including writing and editing for clients around the world representing the health, residential, and nonprofit sectors. Before joining MEDA, she worked in fundraising and event planning at PRiMA Arts Inc. and as a manager for startup tea company, Menno Tea.
