Join us for the MEDA Global Farm Party at Spring Creek Farm. All of us who live and work on this beautiful land growing organic produce, beef, eggs, honey, herbs and flowers for our members and community feel blessed. Building the farm, supporting passionate young farmers, and inviting the community to enjoy it gives us as much joy as eating the great-tasting food we grow. We invite you to experience farming with us. Hear about MEDA’s work investing in farm communities around the globe and how they are creating decent work for people living in poverty.
For 70 years MEDA has quietly and effectively invested in projects around the world that deliver business solutions to poverty, principally in farming and food production. MEDA partners with entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses that equip people with access to the resources they need to not just meet basic needs, but to work their way out of poverty. MEDA’s track record and credibility in international development are unquestioned, but the global need is expanding. Join us for the global farm party. Enjoy the farm and learn more about projects underway around the world.

Complete your “passport” as you discover the stations located around the farm. At each station you will learn something about sustainable environmental living and what MEDA is doing to address it. You will find your carbon footprint, learn to cook on a small cook stove, carry water like the women do in Tanzania and more. For adults, each station will include a staff member for more in depth information.
Hand On Stations are compliments of Dock Academy Service Learning Students under the direction of Nathaniel Freed and MEDA staff.
Visit the international garden pot and plot area and pretend you are in a different country going out to the fields. You may see the same vegetables as we grow here but how they are grown and harvested might look very different. MEDA helps farmers find markets for their produce and provides drought resistant seeds in places where the world is getting less rainfall.
If your family would like to be part of this growing project in preparation for the event please e-mail ritamariehoover@icloud.com.
By the farm creek is an old stone Spring house where you will have the opportunity to light a candle and pray for those around the world experiencing conflict and hardship!
