Despite rich soil, post-Soviet era Ukraine farmers struggle to subsist on small acreages. Through SUPPER – Southeast Ukraine Planting for Prosperity and Economic Rejuvenation – MEDA will help farmers find new prosperity in a profitable market economy. By learning about modern technologies and methods, small farmers can move into high-value crops that will help increase incomes. Watch on YouTube.

A small grassroots effort by a group of California women trying to lose weight has resulted in a net gain for MEDA. Cindi Peterson started Women Against Global Hunger (WAGH) to help end hunger through charitable donations and to encourage women to pursue healthy eating and physical activity to promote sustainable living. A new MEDA project in Morocco and Egypt is helping to bring new hope for the future to a part of the world where large numbers of youth are unemployed. MEDA's Jennifer Denomy explains how a program called Youth Invest will not only provide much-needed business and career training to help youth find a job or start their own business, but will also help them access credit to launch sustainable livelihoods.
