Julie Redfern (second from left), MEDA's director of microfinance, recently returned from Afghanistan, where she was following the progress of MEDA's work there with Women for Women International in a microfinance institution that the two partner organizations founded in 2004. "Meeting some of the women who are benefitting from this work filled me with a sense of hope. It was exciting and invigorating to see the sparkle in their eyes as they talked about their small and growing businesses."
That work will continue and grow thanks to the Afghanistan Challenge. In this month's MEDA's World radio interview, Julie explains how it works. Click here to listen (~5MB - If there are problems, please right click and select Save As.) Past episodes of MEDA's World.
