MEDA front and centre at Canadian embassy

MEDA was front and center at a recent gathering at the Canadian Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan.

MEDA Afghanistan country manager Catherine Sobrevega sat next to the new ambassador, Ron Hoffman, at a lunch and security meeting Sept. 26 with the new CIDA head of aid Ingrid Knutson. Representatives from other NGOs working in Afghanistan, including CARE, Aga Khan, Peace Dividend Trust and Development Works, also attended.

Catherine (pictured second from left) was invited to sit beside the ambassador at lunch. "He said that he heard a lot of positive feedback about our project," notes Catherine.
While previous security meetings have been held in Ottawa, Catherine is hopeful that the event will lead to regular meetings now between CIDA and its partners in Kabul to share information.
