MEDA Trust – on-line for over a year now – is making some adjustments to its website, giving supporters even more freedom to help the working poor.
By creatively linking donors in North America to entrepreneurs around the world, MEDA Trust (medatrust.org) gives those who want to help the chance to become involved in the world of microfinance.
One of the comments received from MEDA Trust supporters is a wish to fund only parts of loans – empowering the younger generation while opening up more opportunity to help a wider range of entrepreneurs.
MEDA is pleased to announce that you can now fund partial loans on MEDA Trust in $25 increments! Simply select the loan you wish to support and then choose the amount you'd like to fund.
It's as easy as 1-2-3:
- Browse the loans and choose an entrepreneur you’d like to support. Once you’ve selected a loan you’d like to fund, click on the “Fund Loan” button.
- Decide whether you’d like to fund the entire loan or just a portion of the loan in $25 increments. Using the drop-down menu, select the amount you wish to fund and click on the “Fund this Loan” button.
- The loan will now appear in your portfolio with the amount you’ve funded, together with the total amount of the original loan in brackets. You will be given updates on the loan as it is repaid. And once an entrepreneur has repaid their entire loan, you can find another loan to support!
MEDA is grateful for the continued participation in MEDA Trust. Men and women living in poverty are seeing hope through the power of a simple microfinance loan.
