Abe and Lisa FehrAbe Fehr sees energy in Romania

Abe and Lisa Fehr of Leamington, ON, were part of a recent MEDA tour to Romania with TourMagination. Their first tour was to Egypt in 2005, when Abe became a MEDA member.

"It was my first time in Romania," says Abe. "I saw a lot of poverty, but still, it's a beautiful country. We saw a glass-making factory, a greenhouse farm and a cheese factory. I was enthused about the amount of energy among the younger people, now that they have the opportunity to build a business. It was fun to watch." But the trip had its more sombre moments, too. "One of our tour guides told us how his father had started a church in the communist era. His emotions welled up just speaking about it."
