“The tour was called Behind and Veil, and while we took in many of the popular tourist attractions, our time visiting with MEDA partners in Egypt was very enriching.
We were very encouraged by MEDA's resourcefulness in partnering with existing Muslim-based agencies like EACID (Egyptian Association of Community Initiatives and Development). The mutual respect between the agency partners was very obvious and they welcomed the support and interest of us MEDA members.
The many small businesses that we visited were proud of their association with EACID and MEDA. The business owners were pleased to show us the many improvements they had made to workplaces, that had been recommended and that were made possible with assistance of a small loan.
We were very pleased with the excellent rapport that MEDA has established in this Muslim country and proud to call indentify ourselves as MEDA supporters and members."
