MEDA Nicaragua and MiCrédito staff enjoyed an intimate party with some of their newest clients recently. October saw the unofficial opening of MiCrédito’s newest location – the Ciudad Jardin branch, situated just a few blocks from Managua’s biggest and busiest street market – el Mercado Oriental. This is an exciting step, as many of MiCrédito’s urban clients serve this market.
While the official opening is not for a little while yet, financial and administrative manager Veronica Herrera Valladares said it wouldn’t be right to open a business without some sort of opening ceremony. With that in mind, board member Fred Wall and MiCrédito general manager Octavio Cortes were on hand to celebrate with branch staff and some of MiCrédito’s newest clients. Several clients were present – both former members of the Rubenia branch moving to Ciudad Jardin because of the convenience of the location, as well as others who were signed on for the first time.
It’s clear this is only the beginning for the newest addition to the MiCrédito family. As attendees chatted cheerfully about plans for both branch and business, there was an air of excitement for what this would bring to clients and community members. The celebration, pulled off without a hitch, was certainly a sweet start for the new MiCrédito branch.
