Use the key to lock the door for the civet

Kutamie funguo kufunga mlango kwa fungo
So determined this week to master some words that have been tripping me up lately!

Funga: Close, lock

Fungu: Open, unlock

Funguo: Key

And just for fun, Fungo: Civet

A co-worker was closing a window and asked me if I was ok with it. I think I flip-flopped between funga and fungu half a dozen times trying to remember which one is the right word. She had a good laugh out of it.

I can definitely sympathize better now with English learners confronting: where, were, we`re, and wore; you’re, your; there, their, they’re!
