November 16, 5:00 p.m.—MEDA Colorado Chapter meeting at First Mennonite Church. Meal begins at 5:00 pm, with a meeting to follow at 6:00 pm. MEDA’s Brenda Burkholder will tell about women she met in Afghanistan and Pakistan and share how their lives have changed toward the good because of MEDA. November 19, 5:30 p.m.—Saskatchewan Chapter dinner meeting at Osler Mennonite Church, Osler, SK. Keynote Speaker: Allan Sauder, MEDA President. Allan will share on MEDA’s work last year in 44 countries. How more than 2.6 million families were able to have a better life as a result of MEDA’s programs. He will also share plans and programs going forward, including work in the Ukraine. Pre-supper reception at 5:30 p.m., supper at 6:00 p.m. Cost: $20 per person. November 25, 12:00-1:30 pm—Shenandoah Chapter’s Roy Hange (pastor and VMC Overseer), Randy Schweitzer (businessman & MEDA Chapter Chair) and Beryl Jantzi (MMA Partners) are hosting local business persons and local Mennonite pastors to lunch for a discussion concerning the impact of the current economic situation with the business persons in local churches. Several questions will be addressed:
- In general, what are the challenges business leaders face in Rockingham County?
- What are the difficult choices business persons confront during economic down turns?
- How might the church be supportive to leaders in the business community?
If you are interested in discussing these and other business-related issues and desire to show support for local business leaders you are invited to participate. Please pass this invitation along to others who you think might also be interested. Location: Banquet room at Taste of Thai. Each person attending will be responsible for their own meal.
